Centre for Science Education

The Science Centre provides a range of facitilities that help to promote the teaching and learning of primary science.

Working with Teachers  

  • A wide range of single seminars / workshops that focus on the different strands of the Primary Science Curriulum.  Teachers have the option of taking these seminars/ workshops in their schools or in St. Patrick's College.
  • Consultancy for schools
  • Documentation and information to facilitate the teaching of science in primary schools
  • A weekly science  magazine, Eureka, available through the Irish Independent
  • Collaboration with STePs to engineering in order to promote design and technology in Primary Schools..  Additional information is available on the following website www.steps.ie

 

 

 

Working with Children

  • Visits to schools: talking to teachers and doing science with the children for our mutual benefit
  • Production of a weekly science magazine, Eureka, available through the Irish Independent.

Eureka is a science magazine exclusively for primary schools, published by the Irish Independent and written and produced by Paula Kilfeather, Cliona Murphy and Janet Varley in the Centre for Science Education.
