Biology Department

Welcome to the Biology Department website.

The Biology Department offers a Bioscience course in First Year . This course is specifically designed for Education and Arts students and is Biology centred. It also contains elements from the other sciences, technology, education and culture. Major aims of the course include the acquisition of scientific literacy, attitude and knowledge of the process steps of scientific method.

As all topics start from first principles, no prior scientific knowledge is required to do well in this enjoyable and enriching study. The course deals with living things, - their nature, diversity, functioning, interdependence, change and continuity over time.
