Themes
- the fluctuating boundaries between childhood and other developmental phase
- childrens' and adolescents' rights and identities
- childrens' perspectives on childhood
- childhood, adolescence and inequality
- childhood/adolescence and ethnic/race identity
- the imagination of the child/adolescent
- philosophy/psychology/sociology of childhood and adolescence
- media constructions of young peoples' identities
- legal, philosophical and political dimensions to childhood and adolescence
- childhood/adolescence and the market
- citizenship/participation in childhood and adolescence
- the National Childrens' Strategy in the Republic of Ireland
- history of childhood/adolescence
- working with young people in out-of-school settings
These themes are intended to be illustrative. It is intended that a selection of conference papers will be published in a themed volume.
