DR ANDREW O'SHEA lecturers in Philosophy of Childhood and Philosophy of Imagination on the Humanities and Education programmes in St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra. Andrew has a particular interest in human agency and the ritual of schooling in a secular age. Andrew is founding researcher of the Center for Culture Technology and Values in Mary Immaculate College Limerick.
He has led research projects examining various aspects of human development, including the impact of the arts on children in the Ballymun community.
His forthcoming edited book is entitled 'Pedagogy and Transformation in a Post-Critical Climate: the Return of Freirean Thinking', which is part of an ongoing project exploring some of the challenges to, and possibilities of Paulo Freire's vision of humanisation today.
