Boxer Darren O'Neill, college graduate and Sports 4 Success volunteer, qualifies for 2012 London Olympics!!!!
St. Patrick's College graduate Darren O'Neill qualified for the 30th Olympiad by reaching the quarter-finals at the World Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Baku, Azerbaijan last month. Darren was a long time volunteer with Sports 4 Success during his time here studying for his BA. Having completed the BA in Humanities he went on to do the Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary Teaching) and qualified as a primary school teacher in 2009. He was the Silver medal winner at the 2010 European Championships.

Dorset Street After School Club operates from Crosscare in Wellington Street, about a ten minute walk from the college. This club is run voluntarily by local parents and really needs your help.

A-Z Children's Charity is looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible people to travel to Uganda in summer 2011 to work on a three-week placement. In 2010, three B Ed students volunteered their time to this charity. We need volunteers to help us achieve our mission
- CASPr provides educational services and childcare in the North Inner City, to enable people to escape poverty and access employment. The project's childcare services aim to provide a fun, safe learning environment for children.
- Sport 4 Success is an innovative mentor programme for primary level pupils operating at various third level institutes throughout the country. The Programme uses the medium of sport to encourage a change in attitudes to learning while improving self esteem and social skills. Physical activity of some sort is also incorporated.
