GAE 001: TEANGA, LITRÍOCHT AGUS CULTÚR NA hÉIREANN GAE 001: IRISH LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND CULTURE

This course will consist of a series of talks and lectures on Ireland and its cultural traditions. Topics to be covered over the course of Semester I are listed below.

CREIDIÚINTÍ/CREDITS
To gain five credits for the course, students must attend sessions 1-10, engage with the subject outside of the scheduled sessions, and write a 1,500-word essay on a topic of their choice. Each lecturer will suggest two or three essay titles, and essays must be submitted to the Course Co-ordinator by Wednesday 15/12/2010.

The course will be supplemented by a number of social events in An Seomra Caidrimh and by practical sessions on Gaelic Games, Irish Dancing and Traditional Music.
