Geography Department
Welcome to the Geography Department! Geography is the study of the environments created on the earth's surface by nature and people. There has never been a more exciting time to study geography, with contemporary issues from global warming to urban planning and economic globalization challenging the ways in which we view the world.
The geography programme at St. Patrick's College focuses largely on human and environmental geography and is taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials, fieldwork and practical classes. Emphasis is placed on the development of a range of skills, such as reading and constructing maps, preparing and carrying out surveys, writing and presenting reports.
