Class of 1961 Reunion
The Class of 1961 held a reunion on 7 October attended by approximately 65 members of that class and their partners and guests. Following mass in the College chapel, celebrated by Fr Fachtna McCarthy, there was a reception hosted by the President of the College. On behalf of the members of the class of 1961, George Cunningham presented to the College a large selection of books written by the graduates of that year. He announced that a further donation of books would be made at a later date in memory of deceased members of the class of 1961. Responding, Dr Travers thanks the class for their generosity and lauded their outstanding contribution to the educational, social, cultural and community life of the country over forty five years. The reception was followed by dinner at the Skylon hotel and an evening of song, story and reminiscences with memorable contributions inter alia by John Quinn, John Coolahan and Roddy Day.
