4th Seamus Heaney Lecture Series Launched
The progamme for the fourth Seamus Heaney Lectures Series has now been launched. The Theme of the 2006-2007 is the 'Mirror Up to Nature': Drama and Theatre in The Modern World.
The Opening Lecture, ‘The Magic That Is Theatre’ on 9 October 2006, will be given by the great director and former Artistic Director of the Abbey Theatre, Patrick Mason. Patrick’s Work has invariably represented a combination of spiritual imagination and fine technical skill, as audiences will recall from such brilliant premieres of Kilroy’s Talbot’s Box (1977), McIntyre’s The Great Hunger (1983), Murphy’s The Gigli Concert (1983) or Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa (1990). This is a lecture not to be missed.
All lectures will take place in the College on Monday evenings at 8.00pm. Admission to all lectures is free, click here for further details and information
The proceedings of the first two series have been published.
