A History of Ireland's School Inspectorate - 1831 - 2008

Professor John Coolahan, Chairperson, St Patrick's College Governing Body, has compiled a history of Ireland's School Inspectorate which has been published by Four Courts Press.  It was launched in the Department of Education and Science on 2 September by Mr Batt O'Keeffe, Minister for Education and Science.  Professor Coolahan's book, which was written with the assistance of Patrick F O'Donovan, is described by the Irish Times as "the first independent look at the inner workings of the department and inspectorate and is based on new evidence".
