Barry McGovern's Masterclass

As part of the MA in Theatre studies programme at St Patrick's College, ‘Acting Beckett’, a masterclass, was recently given by internationally acclaimed Beckett actor, Barry McGovern . In keeping with the MA programme’s aim of combining excellence in theatre practice with a rigorous analytical approach to drama, Dr McGovern gave a critical talk on Beckett followed by a workshop on scenes from Waiting for Godot, Come and Go and Endgame. This is the second masterclass taken by the St Patrick's College MA in Theatre Studies students this academic year; last semester’s guest was the distinguished director, Patrick Mason, whose class on Greek drama centred on translations by Irish playwrights.
