Drama Workshops with Joseph Winston

 

Joseph Winston of Warwick University UK and author of Beginning Drama 4-11, among other titles, gave a series of workshops in St. Patrick's College yesterday 30th April to over 100 undergraduate and post-graduate students.  The use of narrative to transport children to an interactive imaginative learning space was central to this exciting series.  Student Teachers gained first hand experience of how to engage children and explored a variety of new learning approaches and methods through the use of two tales, The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde for the early years and Mr. Fox - a traditional tale for the senior part of the primary school.  This was Mr Winston's first visit to Dublin.
