Visiting lecturer from Belgium

 

St Patrick's College French Department welcomed Madame Pascale Rigolet-Bonnet from Liege-HELMO Sainte-Croix, Belgium as a guest lecturer in the department during the week 23rd – 27th March.   Madame Rigolet-Bonnet held a number of teaching sessions with students and staff in the Department including lectures on the ‘Physical, Cultural and Social Geography of Belgium’, ‘Discovering Belgian through the Cartoon of Pierre Kroll’, and ‘The Contribution of Flemish Illustrator Carll Cneut to contemporary European Children’s Literature’.   She also facilitated a lively seminar with students using ‘La Chanson Française’ as a means of developing children’s listening strategies.   Mme Rigolet-Bonnet also met with two students from Liege-HELMO,  Laura Dorthu and Veronique Severijns, who are presently in the College on an Erasmus exchange visit.
