New Music by John Buckley

 

Two CDs including music by John Buckley have been recently released.

Reservoir by pianist Isabelle O'Connell includes three tracks by John Buckley - they are three preludes: The Cloths of Heaven; Like ghosts from an encounter fleeting; and Jim Singing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The other CD, Contemporary Music from Ireland, Volume 9  has been released by the Contemporary Music Centre and is available free of charge. In Winter Light for alto flute and guitar by John Buckley is one of the featured tracks. The Contemporary Music Centre website is www.cmc.ie and you can listen to sample tracks online

Another new composition by John Buckley Three Preludes for Two Violins, was commissioned by Lyric FM and first broadcast on April 25th last. The performers were Anna Fliegerova, a former Erasmus student in St. Patrick’s College and Michael Romanovsky, who is a violinist with the State Opera Company in Prague.

William Dowdall Works for Solo Flute on the Celestial Harmonies label, includes two tracks, Winter Echoes and Sea Echoes by John Buckley.
