Fund-raising for CanTeen Ireland

On 12 May, following an active fund-raising event, a presentation was made to CanTeen Ireland by the Students Union Women’s Officer, third year BA student Laura Connick, in Seomra Caidrimh, St Patrick's College. CanTeen Ireland is a nation-wide support group for young people who have or have had cancer, and for their brothers, sisters and friends. It was established in 1990 by a group of dedicated health professionals and it is linked with the Irish Cancer Society. As Canteen Ireland was her chosen charity, Laura organised a Cancer Awareness Day in the College and successfully rounded up a number of other students to participate in the campaign entitled "Boobs and Balls Day". They successfully raised over one thousand Euro for CanTeen Ireland.
