Capacity Building for Teacher Professional Development in Kosovo

The partnership between St Patrick’s College and the University of Prishtina’s Faculty of Education in Prizren developed further last week with the visit of Dr Fionnuala Waldron, Head of the Education Department and Dr Pádraig Ó Duibhir to Kosovo. The purpose of the visit was to prepare for professional development courses, in June and September, for members of the Faculty of Education in Prizren in southern Kosovo. The visit which was organised by the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) provided opportunities for the delegation to learn about the education system in Kosovo through school visits and meetings with key personnel such as the Dean and Pro Deans at the Faculty of Education in Prishtina .  The Pro Dean at the faculty of Education in Prizren, Mr. Xhelajdin Zymberi, welcomed the delegation to Prizren and helped to design the programme for professional development. There was also an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from the Education and Training Agency, Croatia who will also be partners in this project.
