College Choir performs at Cork International Choral Festival
St Patrick’s College Choral Society ably represented the College at the recent Cork International Choral Festival. Under their conductor, John O’ Flynn, and with leading international mezzo-soprano, Imelda Drumm, the choir performed a wide range of pieces to a capacity and highly appreciative audience in the Cork Vision Centre on Saturday May 1st. The Amica Voce Hungarian Chamber Choir also performed in the concert, which was attended by the Hungarian ambassador, Ferenc Jári.
Apart from this public concert, the choir also performed in a national competition receiving a very high mark. St Patrick’s College Choral Society was one of only two university-based choirs to perform at this highly prestigious festival, and the experience will stand in good stead for their forthcoming trip to Hungary when they will participate in the Irish/Hungarian Festival in Györ in July.
