Danish Students Visit St Patrick's
St Patrick’s College hosted a group of Education students and their Senior Tutor, Anders Bendsen, from Nørre Nissum Seminarium a Teaching Training College in Lemvig, Denmark. This College is situated in very scenic surroundings in North West Jutland near the Limfiord and the North Sea. It offers four-year teacher training leading to the nationally recognized Folkeskolelaerereksamen or BEd degree and has now merged with the second-largest educational establishment in Denmark named VIA University College. It was founded in1892 it has 700 full time students and 200 part-time students.
The group who were keen to learn about the Irish Education system and curriculum met with St Patrick's College staff, Fionnuala Waldron, Head of Education, Susan Pike, Education Lecturer, Sean Mc Conmara, Teaching Practice Team and Bernie Donnelly, International Affairs Administrator. They also had an opportunity to visit schools locally - St Vincent De Paul Girls and St Patrick’s Boys Primary Schools.
