Diversity in Education
The Centre for Human Rights and Citizenship Education, St Patrick’s College in cooperation with U.S. Embassy Dublin hosted a discussion, last Wednesday on diversity and education.
The panel of speakers included Ms Nadine Hall, Director of Diversity, Greenhills School in Michigan, USA; Ms Mary Healy, Principal, Castaheany Educate Together National School and Mr Brian Ruane, Programme Leader, Centre for Human Rights and Citizenship Education, St Patrick's College.
The discussion was held in the College and attracted people from different organisations who are involved with diversity and equality in education as well as lecturers from St Patrick’s College.
Nadine Hall and Mary Healy discussed initiatives taken in their schools to support fuller integration of the diversity of children and families involved with their schools. Brian Ruane discussed his research into student teacher’s experiences regarding diversity whilst on teaching practice.
