Drama Elective Devised Theatre Presentation

On 16th December, the drama elective group from St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, presented their devised theatre piece entitled ‘The Four Elements’ to an audience on the college stage.  This presentation was the culmination of a ten week process which explored a variety of approaches to theatre making.  Drawing on a range of media including dance, art and percussion, the students of this elective developed their own response to the theme of the four elements while examining the various roles involved in the creative process and the dynamic relationship between process and product in drama and theatre. This process was facilitated by Paula Murphy of the Drama Unit in St Patrick’s College, and supported by Patrick Burke and Maire Ní Bhroin who facilitated the lighting and visual art aspects of the project.  A display of photographs and art work representing this process will be presented in the college in the New Year.
