The Socars - the annual College drama awards reflect and encourage the rich and vibrant tradition of theatre in the College. At the 2005/2006 event (the 6th time this event has taken place) the awards were as follows:

Best Supporting Actor: Colm Costello - 'Augustus'- Run Wilde

Best Debut Performance: Kenny Griffin - 'Lago' - The Virgin of Menace

Best Ensemble Acting: Elektra

Best Comic Performace: Fintan Quinn & Ciaran O'Rourke - 'Two gentlemen of Verona' - The Virgin of Menace

Best Monologue: Ciara Allen - Crossing Over

Best Set Design: An Saol Eile

Best New/Adapted Script: Ruth McGowan - Run Wilde

Best External Involvement in a DramaSoc Production: Elizabeth Molloy 'MA' - The Virgin of Menace

Best Sound: Nature

Best Lighting: The Witches

Rookie of the Year: Olive Rossiter and Ciaran O'Rourke

Best Stage Management: One Act Festivals - Ruth McGowan, Aoife O'Flaherty, Róisín Harkin, Emma Quaine

Best Make- Up/Costume: The Witches

Best Improvising: Conor Lyons - Who's Line Is It Anyway ?
