Dr Uáitéar Mac Gearailt-School of Celtic Studies
Dr Uáitéar Mac Gearailt (Roinn na Gaeilge, St Patrick’s College) has
been appointed by the President, Mary McAleese, to the Governing Board of the School of Celtic Studies at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. Dr Mac Gearailt is a recognized authority in the field of Early Irish, in particular the language and literature of the Middle Irish period (the 10th, 11th, and 12th century). He has published papers on the subject in peer-reviewed journals such as Ériu and Zeitschrift für celtische Philologie. He is joint editor of Studia Hibernica. The School of Celtic Studies is the leading centre globally for research on the Celtic languages and literatures.
