Students Participate in EU-Funded Erasmus Programme in Greece

A group of 2nd year BEd students from St Patrick's College are in Greece at the moment completing an EU-funded Erasmus Intensive Programme at the University of Ioannina in the Prefecture of Epirus in northern Greece. 7 students each from universities in Ireland, Netherlands, Cyprus, Portugal, Sweden, and Greece and staff are spending two weeks immersed in science education in extensive study concerning the topics of 'light' and 'sustainability'. The large group of students are involved in lectures and workshops and giving presentations themselves. The work is conducted in groups, each with a multinational mix. The course is worth 5 ECTS points. Funding has been secured from the EU for another Intensive Programme for 2012 in Ioannina. The St Patrick's College students who are participating at the moment and pictured above are: Morgan Quinn, Fiona Corr, Michelle Hannafin, Yvonne Naughton, Yvette Doherty, Mary Duffy and Emily Horgan.
