Engaging Students in Research and Inquiry in Geography

The Geography Department in St Patrick's College recently hosted a workshop on Engaging Students in Research and Inquiry in Geography, which was facilitated by Professor Mick Healey (University of Gloucestershire) and attended by representatives from third level Geography departments across the island.  The event was organised in conjunction with the Geography Special Interest Group, an academic network funded by the All Ireland Society for Higher Education (AISHE), of whicActive Learning at the Ideas Caféh Dr Susan Hegarty and Dr Ruth McManus are founder members.The workshop forms part of a larger project on Enhancing Research in the Undergraduate Curriculum, which has included a number of paper and poster presentations, with further publications planned for 2011.
