IRCHSS Research Fellowship

Dr Diarmaid Ferriter has been awarded a Research Fellowship for 2006/2007 by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences. Dr Ferriter will research "Sex and Society in twentieth century Ireland", a historical monograph detailing attitudes and practices associated with sexuality in twentieth century Ireland, using original archival material.

Dr Ferriter is a lecturer in the History Department, St Patrick's College. He is the author of the acclaimed The Transormation of Ireland 1900-2000, and What If, which is based on his RTE Radio One Series.
