Ugandan Principals Visit St Patrick's College

Four Principals of Ugandan Colleges of Education for primary school teachers visited St Patrick’s College on 28th January. They were: Mr Daniel Kigundu, Principal, Rukungiri Primary Teaching College; Mr. Benjamin Byesigwa, Principal, Canon Apolo PTC, Fort Portal; Mr. Javan Lwamafa, Principal, Kabale Bukinda PTC (former Principal of Mbarara PTC, Port Stewart); and Mrs. Evah Kagimba, former Principal at Rukungiri, and presently working on curriculum development in the Ministry of Education and Sport, Kampala.
The visit was organised by An Réalt, the African Teaching and Learning programme that enables education students from Coláiste Mhuire Marino, CICE Rathmines, and St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra spend up to eight weeks during the summer break teaching in Africa in a range of educational settings.
The Ugandan visitors were all from institutions that had hosted Irish students in the past.
