Freshers Week 2010
This week marks the first full week for incoming and returning students to St Patrick’s College. To capture the enthusiasm and spirit of such a week, the Students’ Union is holding their annual Freshers Week, as an introduction to and reminder of the benefits of college life. Entertainment such as magicians, hypnotists, and some of the college’s finest musical talent will be showcased during this week, as well as the night time social activities, which are crucial for making friends and getting comfortable with new surroundings. Events such as ‘County Colours’ emphasise the sense of community of the college, as great debates can be struck up between rival counties, and memories recalled of famous matches.
Freshers Week is the highlight of the year for many students, especially first years, as they are welcomed into the college with warm reception. Special offers for students will be available from a number of different businesses, and with freebies galore, this is a week like none other. The Students’ Union extend a warm invite to all members of St. Patrick’s College, both staff and students, to get up, get out, and get involved in the upcoming events, and to approach and enjoy them in the most amicable way possible.
Freshers Week runs from Monday the 4th October until Friday the 8th of October. Tickets for the events can be obtained from the S.U offices in E block, and a timetable of events are displayed around the college through a poster campaign.
