Holocaust Remembered
As part of the Intercultural Festival organised by the college Intercultural and Development Education Committee a lecture was delivered in the College on 15 February 2006 by Tomi Reichental a survivor of the Bergen Belsen concentration camp on his experiences there.
Tomi Reichental was born in Slovakia in 1935. He was sent to Bergen Belsen in 1944 when he was 9 years old. He survived that horrific experience, along with his mother and brother. 35 members of his extended family perished. Tomi has lived in Ireland since 1960.
He delivered the lecture to a packed auditorium, and answered questions afterwards as well as meeting students and other guests individually.
