Irish American Higher Education Research Organisation visit

A delegation from the Irish American Higher Education Research Organisation (IA/HERO) visited St Patrick's College on Tuesday 20 September as part of their Educational Research Annual Colloquium, organised by the Higher Education Authority (HEA).  Dr  Travers, President, greeted the delegation following which Dr Fionnuala Waldron, Dean of Education, made a presentation on the work of the College and current issues in teacher education.

This IA/HERO discussion group included key educationalists from the US including Dr Jay Cole (West Virginia University), Prof Lee Fritschler (George Mason University), Art Hauptman, Dr Peter Magrath (President, SUNY, Binghamton),  Maureen McLaughlin (U.S. Department of Education), Bob Rothman (Alliance for Excellence in Education),  Mike Smith (Formerly of the U.S. Department of Education), Mike Timpane (Former President of Teachers College, Columbia University), Dean Jon Snyder (Bank Street School of Education), Judy Wurtzel (U.S. Department of Education) and  Jennifer Dournay Zinth (Education Commission of the States).
