President of IDEA Leads Drama Workshop

On the 20th November Patrice Baldwin, the new president of IDEA (International Drama and Theatre in Education Association) led a one day drama workshop in St. Patrick's College.  Thirty five people participated in this workshop which was organised by ADEI (The Association of Drama in Education in Ireland) and the staff of St Patrick's College.  Participants included members of ADEI, primary and secondary school teachers, student teachers and freelance practitioners. The group also included twelve primary school teachers who have recently commenced the new inservice diploma in Drama in St Patrick's College.  Drawing on a range of artistic media this workshop allowed participants to explore identity, community and exclusion. It also allowed them to engage with recent debates and developments within the practice of process drama which is the focus of the revised curriculum in drama.
