St Patrick's College wins IRCHSS Awards
St Patrick’s College has had considerable success in the 2008 cycle of prestigious IRCHSS (Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences) awards.
Dr Derek Hand, English Department, has been awarded a Government of Ireland Fellowship to continue his work on a study of the Irish novel.
Two doctoral fellowships have been awarded one to Aisling Farrell, who has been accepted as a research student in the History Department to work on women's movements in the Irish Free State. Marian Keyes, who is a registered research student in the English department, and who preparing a dissertation on Mrs Hall's works for children and their illustration, has also been awarded a fellowship.
Norah Maguire, who is a tutor in the English Department, has also won a doctoral fellowship.
