I am Mary, I am Woman

I am Mary, I am WomanI am Mary, I am Woman written by Dr Caroline Renehan, Head of Religious Studies and Religious Education in St Patrick's College, was launched in the College on 2 February 2011 by James Mackey, Thomas Chalmers Professor Emeritus Edinburgh University. The book is published by The Columba Press, Dublin.

In launching the book, Prof Mackey spoke of the nature of the relationship between Marian theology and Christian feminist anthropology. The book details the debate and the significance for future work in these two traditionally held disparate fields of learning. Prof Mackey described the work as ‘masterful’ and offered a learned, detailed critiqueDr Pauric Travers, President of St Patrick's College, Prof James Mackey, Thomas Chalmers Professor Emeritus Edinburgh University, Dr Caroline Renehan, Head of Religious Studies and Religious Education, St Patrick's College strongly advising a follow up publication in the same genre.

Caroline Renehan is Head of Religious Studies and Religious Education in St Patrick’s College. She is a graduate of Mater Dei Institute and holds a PhD in Divinity (University of Edinburgh) and a PhD in Education (Institute of Education, University of London). She taught for many years in Dublin both in the John of God and Loreto College secondary schools. Subsequently she was a Diocesan Adviser in the Archdiocese of Dublin, the first National Director for Catechetics in Ireland and lecturer in education, Mater Dei Institute. She is co-author of The Chaplain: A Faith Presence in the School Community, Columba Press, Dublin (1998) and Different Planets?: Gender Attitudes and Classroom Practice in Post-Primary Teaching, The Liffey Press, Dublin (2006).
