International Music Education Symposium
The 6th International Symposium on the Sociology of Music Education took place in early July at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. The symposium was chaired and co-organised by Dr John O’Flynn, and was also attended by Dr Patricia Flynn and by several research students at St Patrick’s College Music Department. The themes explored included: informal music learning, communities of practice, musical identities, and a range of social justice issues pertaining to music education.
