Bernadette’s doctoral thesis focussed on the development of an integrated inquiry-based curriculum which included cross curricular units that linked literacy, science, and the Internet. The study was conducted in a DEIS Band 1 school over a two year period with 3rd to 6th class struggling readers as they searched for information online. Bernadette completed her doctoral studies under the supervision of Professor Colin Harrison at the University of Nottingham, U.K.
