Kent State Students visit St Patrick's College
On 8th May, St Patrick’s College hosted a visit by a group of students and their tutor, Dr Natasha Levinson, Associate Professor of Education, from Kent State University, Ohio. This is the second year that a group from Kent State – who are on a two-week trip to Ireland studying the Irish educational system – visited the college.

They were accompanied by the trip organiser, Batt Burns, a graduate of the college (1961), and former Principal of Sneem Primary School. He is presently on the Board of Kent State’s Centre for International and Intercultural Education.

After a presentation by Séan O’Dwyer, NT, on the Irish Educational System, the students had an opportunity to visit the Resource Centre and Library where they were particularly interested in the readers and textbooks in use in Irish schools. At the end of the visit, Batt Burns presented a copy of his most recent publication The King With Horse’s Ears and Other Irish Folktales to the Cregan Library. Terrie O’Sullivan, who had led the tour of the library, received the copy on the library’s behalf.
