Quality appointment for Daire Keogh

Dr Daire Keogh, History Department, St Patrick College, has been appointed to the European Committee dealing with Quality Assurance in Higher Education.
The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) is being set up following a mandate given by European Ministers for Higher Education at their Bologna Ministerial Conference in London in May 2007.
The members of the EQAR will comprise eight members nominated by the European University Association (EUA), the European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the European Students’ Union and the European Associations of Higher Education (EURASHE), two members nominated by Business Europe (European Employers Body) and EI (the International Education Trade Union). Dr Keogh has been nominated by the International Education Trade Union.
The Register will play an important role in ensuring quality standards throughout the higher education sector on a Pan-European basis.
Dr Daire Keogh is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Quality Assurance in St Patrick’s College. He is also a Vice-President of IFUT.
The EQAR will be formally launched in Brussels on 4 March 2008.
