Top Cats
There was great rejoicing among Kilkenny people everywhere following their All-Ireland Hurling Final victory on Sunday.
Coláiste Phádraig is delighted to be associated with this victory. The team, which captured the title for the 29th time at the expense of Cork, included Richie Power and James “Cha” Fitzpatrick both students of the College. Both Richie and James scored points in the game and their style of play was significant in thwarting the Rebels’ quest for the three-in-a-row.
The management team also included two alumni of the College - Brian Cody (Manager) and Martin Fogarty (Selector). We congratulate all concerned in this wonderful achievement.
A further connection between Coláiste Phádraig and Kilkenny will be evident next Sunday, also in Croke Park, when Kilkenny face Tipperary in the Erin U-21 All Ireland Hurling Final . . . but more about this later in the week.
