Concert marks end of 2010 Kodály Summer School
The Music Department in association with the Kodály Society of Ireland hosted a concert of choral and instrumental music on 16 July in the Chapel at St Patrick's College.
The concert marked the close of the Kodály Summer School and the culmination of an intensive week of music-making throughout the College. The summer school was a great success with record numbers in attendance.
The Kodàly ‘concept’ is an internationally acclaimed system of music education based on a methodology developed by the Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály. The first Irish-based summer school took place in St Patrick’s College in 1983 and returned to the College in 2009 after many years.
