Launch of online programme for Special Educational Needs Organisers

Currently 33 of the 90 special educational needs organisers (SENOs) employed by the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) are engaged in the first of four online modules on special and inclusive education designed by the Special Education Department in conjunction with John Smith Coordinator of Online Teaching and Learning in St Patrick’s College. Dr Pauric Travers, President of the College, Dr Joseph Travers, Director of Special Education and Ms Teresa Griffin, the newly appointed CEO of the NCSE launched the new programme. Reference was made to the fact that this is new departure for the College and that Special Educational Needs Organisers represent a new professional body that the College is delighted to engage with. At the induction day presentations were made by Dr Margaret O Donnell, coordinator of the programme, John Smith and library personnel who play a key role in facilitating distance students in the College.
