'Not One Victim More: Human Trafficking in the Baltic States' (Eds. P. Downes, A. Zule-Lapimaa, L. Ivanchenko and S. Blumberg), published by Living for Tomorrow, NGO, Tallinn, was launched on September 24, 2008 in Tallinn, Estonia. At the launch there were representatives from the Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Health Development Institute, AIDS Information and Support Centre, as well as Norwegian and Sweden Embassies and the BBC.

Dr Paul Downes, Director of the Educational Disadvantage Centre in St Patrick’s College, worked in conjunction with local non-governmental organisations in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in developing the book which involved an interdisciplinary focus on the problem of human trafficking, from perspectives in law, social policy, psychology, economics and education. The local non-governmental organizations coordinated interviews with human trafficking victims in each of the Baltic States. Contributors to the book chapters also include lecturers from Swansea University, Liverpool Hope University and Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania.
The foreword to the book is by Dr Catherine Donnelly, Lecturer in Human Rights Law, Trinity College, Dublin. A limited number of copies of the book are available at the Educational Disadvantage Centre, St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.
