'What is Drama in Education - Imagination in Action'
There was a large attendance at the fourth Lecture in the present Seamus Heaney Lecture series last night 29th January to hear Professor Cecily O’Neill who spoke on ‘What is Drama in Education – Imagination in Action’.
Paula Murphy, Mary Howard, Professor Cecily O'Neill, Pat Burke
People from the worlds of academia, from theatre, community arts, drama and theatre practitioners and many others who just wanted to hear this distinctive voice were present. They proved to be an interested and enthusiastic audience who responded with energy to the interactive part of the talk - this is Cecily O’Neill after all and everyone was invited to become involved at one intriguing point. There were plenty of good questions and this very lively atmosphere continued into the reception afterwards which went on for quite a while and at which Cecily graciously made herself available to talk with old friends, colleagues and students. A memorable evening.
Mary Howard, Ambassador Savoia (Italian Ambassador to Dublin), Professor Cecily O'Neill, Mrs Savoia
The next lecture in the series 'New Issues in Drama in Education' will be delivered by Professor Jonothan Neelands on Monday 12 February 2007.
