College Opening Mass
The College Mass in celebration of the new academic year was held on 19 October. The packed congregation heard College Chaplain, Fr Eamonn Cowan, CM, speak of the challenge of the human journey and of the comforting assurance of knowing that God is with each of us on our respective journeys. This, in itself, was reason enough to be confident and thankful regarding the year ahead. Assistant Chaplain, Ms Carol Barry, by way of a communion reflection, read a blessing from Anam Chara by John O'Donoghue: "May your work never weary you. May it release within you wellsprings of refreshment, inspiration and excitement. May you be fully present in all you do. May the day never burden you." The College Choir and the College Folk Group led the congregation in the singing and Fr Fachtna McCarthy was the celebrant.
