Patrick Greene - 1900-2007

Patrick Greene, well-known Co Longford teacher and folklorist, and graduate of St Patrick's College passed away at his home on 22 February 2007, at the age of 106.
Mr Greene was a student in the College in 1918-1920. He wrote about his experiences as a student and as a teacher in his publication In shades like these: Irish Teacher Life-Histories from the Twentieth Century compiled and edited by Joe Conway (Comhar Linn, 2000). Mr Greene was present in the College in July 1999 at a ceremony to mark the departure of the Vincentian Community from the College.
