Conference on the Heritage of John Paul II/Comhdháil ar Oidhreacht Eoin Pól II

A Conference on the Heritage of John Paul II was held in St Patrick’s College on 12 and 13 November.

Contributors included the Papal Nuncio Giuseppe Leanza and the Polish Ambassador Marcin Nawrot pictured above with Dr Travers, President, and Dr Ciarán Ó Coigligh, who organised the conference.

Other speakers at the two day event included Bishop Fiachra Ó Ceallaigh, Eileen Kane, John McNerney, John Murray, Vincent Twomey, Peter Admirand and Ciarán Ó Coigligh. Topics addressed included: the life of John Paul II, his literary compositions, his involvement with the arts, his philosophy, his theology, the theology of the body, his Inter-Faith dialogue, and his Ecumenical dialogue.

Dánta Eoin Pól II, an Irish translation of the poems of John Paul II was launched as part of the conference.
