Tánaiste announces approval for commencement of building works in St Patrick's College
The Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills, Mary Coughlan TD today announced approval for commencement of building work on a major campus development at St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra.

The project which will modernise teaching facilities at the College provides for 11,000 sqm of new building and associated refurbishment and infra-structural works. The major components of the project which will double the teaching space in the College include: new general and specialist teaching accommodation including lecture theatres; workshop rooms for teaching in curriculum areas including science and early childhood; conversion of existing facilities for teaching purposes; provision of multi-purpose space for physical education, drama and examinations; provision of integrated ICT facilities; and upgrading of existing infra-structure.
Welcoming the announcement, the President of the College Dr Pauric Travers said that “Teacher Education ultimately impacts on the educational experience of every child in the country. This development will provide state-of-the-art facilities for the 21st Century and pay rich dividends for current and future generations of students”.
