Pushkin Partners in Education Project 2007
The Pushkin Partners in Education Project brings together staff and students from colleges involved in teacher education, north and south, for an annual weekend of creative workshops under the auspices of the Pushkin Trust. St. Patrick’s College has been an active member of the project since its foundation in 2000. This year the residential weekend took place in Baronscourt, Newtownstewart, Co. Tyrone from November 22nd to 25th.
St. Patrick’s College was represented by Susan Nic Réamoinn (3 B.Ed)Tanya Reynolds(3 B.Ed), Liam Quirke (2PG) and John Ruddy (2 B.Ed) and by staff members Fionnuala Waldron and Maurice O’Reilly. Workshops were held in creative writing, drama, music, art and the environment. The Partners in Education Project was set up by Pushkin Trust and the colleges of education to support creativity in teacher education and to enhance the creative development of student teachers and teacher educators. As well as providing workshops in the environment and in a range of arts areas, the project provides a forum through which staff and students can meet their counterparts from other colleges, north and south.
