Pushkin Partners in Education Residential Weekend 2009

This year marked the 10th anniversary of the participation of St Patrick’s College in the Pushkin Partners in Education Project. The other participants include all of the colleges of education north and south of the border, and the Pushkin Trust. The focus of the project is on the personal creativity of the teacher, with a view to his/her imaginative facilitation of such activity in others. This year three lecturers from St Patrick’s College, Lorraine Ni Ghairbhith, Paula Murphy and Bernadette Ni Aingleis accompanied four students of the college– Jennifer Mooney (BEd3), Sarah Wallace (BEd3), Mary Gleeson (BEd2) and Liam Meade (BEd2) – to Baronscourt in Co Tyrone to participate in the annual residential weekend. Motivated by the theme of ‘Going with the Flow’, all participants engaged in workshops and reflection in the areas of art, dance, creative writing and the environment. The students of St Patrick’s College made a very significant and creative contribution to the experience, and have expressed interest in developing further collaborations of this kind with their colleagues in the other colleges of education.
