College Graduate helps launch scholarship programme by Trinity Comprehensive Ballymun
St Patrick's College graduate, Carrie Graham, was invited back to Trinity Comprehensive School in Ballymun, to help it launch a scholarship scheme aimed at persuading academically gifted children to remain in the locality and attend second-level school in the area. Students who qualify and win a scholarship are being offered a free laptop, financial support towards their book rental and uniform, a cultural trip to France and other educational benefits. The bursaries will cost about €500 and the number awarded will depend on fundraising from the local community. Carrie joined fellow Trinity Comp graduates, John Lyons TD and Lena Byrne, script editor on RTE's Fair City, at the scholarship launch. Carrie graduated with a BA in Humanities in St Patrick's College in 2009 and is now a Masters student here.
