Sharing Fair 2008

The fourth annual "Sharing Fair" organised by the Chaplaincy of St Patrick's College took place in the College on Thursday the 4th of December. The Sharing Fair is an initiative of the Good Shepherd Sisters and seeks to address the economic harship experienced by many women in areas such as Thailand, Kenya and South America. A wide range of beautiful handcrafted atricles poduced by CO-OP projects run by the Good Shepherd Sisters were sold and raised a staggering €6,153.00. This was all the more remarkable when you think just €2 empowers a peruvian woman to feed a family of four for a day. The money will go straight back to the women who create these items and enables those involved in the production of the goods to trade their way out of poverty.
