Student Exchange Visit to Nantes

Six final year students from St Patrick’s College went to Nantes for a short exchange visit (January 16th to 21st)with the Ozanam Institute (a Catholic Teacher Education Institute in Nantes). The purpose of the visit is for the Irish students to learn more about the French education system. They visit schools, do some teaching in them and they visit the Ozanam Institute and have some specific talks on the French educational system and their teacher education programme. The French students will come to Ireland in April and teach in schools in Newbridge for two days before coming to St Patrick’s College for some talks on the Irish educational system and visit some classes here to experience some of our teacher education methods. The Irish students who all study French were Aoife Ward, Ciara O'Gorman, Lynne Tierney, Maeve Kilroy, Sinead Brady and Roseanna O Dea.
